Nghe An is ready to receive 10,000 citizens returning from abroad for centralized quarantine.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters on March 29, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long said that as of 10:00 a.m. this morning, Nghe An had received 3,714 people returning from Laos and Thailand for centralized quarantine. Currently, Nghe An is ready to receive 10,000 citizens.

Each district has prepared a facility with 150-250 seats, and 14 facilities are now in operation. To arrange more quarantine areas, Nghe An has had to requisition dormitories from universities, colleges, and ethnic boarding schools in the area.

Talking about the current difficulties in epidemic prevention, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that it is the number of citizens returning home by road.

“We cannot be proactive in terms of quantity, sometimes we have to arrange thousands of people. Protective clothing is scarce. In addition, the returning subjects include many groups, women, pregnant women, young children, people with underlying diseases... Meanwhile, the conditions for serving the quarantine places, although we have tried, are still facing many difficulties (bathrooms, sanitation facilities, food rations...). Each facility has to arrange from 60 to 80 officers, police, military, medical staff..., but the living conditions are difficult", said the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Regarding nearly 1,000 Nghe An residents who returned from the Bach Mai Hospital outbreak, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that immediately after the Ministry of Health announced the cases, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee promptly directed the Steering Committees of the districts to organize home quarantine based on the list of patients.

Nghe An provincial leaders recommend that people, at this stage the disease is developing very complicatedly, strictly follow the recommendations of the health sector, the direction of the provincial and district People's Committees, limit going out if not really necessary, do not go to restaurants, do not go to bars, do not gather in crowds, if necessary, must go out and strictly follow the regulations to wear masks...

On the afternoon of March 29, Anh Son and Con Cuong districts received nearly 300 more people returning from Laos for centralized quarantine.
