Nghe An is ready to respond to developments of tropical depression

(Baonghean.vn) - At 1:00 p.m. this afternoon (September 11), a tropical depression has formed in the central Philippines sea and is moving west.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Nghe An province has sent an official dispatch to coastal districts to closely monitor the development of the tropical depression and be ready to respond when required. The content of the dispatch is as follows:

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression (TLD) has formed in the central Philippines sea. At 1:00 p.m. on September 11, the center of the TLD was at about 14.6 degrees North latitude; 125.0 degrees East longitude, the strongest wind near the center of the TLD was at level 7, gusting to level 9. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the TLD will move westward, traveling about 15-20km per hour. At 1:00 p.m. on September 12, the center of the TLD was at about 14.9 degrees North latitude; 121.8 degrees East longitude, the strongest wind near the center of the TLD was at level 7, gusting to level 9.

To proactively respond to natural disasters, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of coastal districts: Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc; Cua Lo Town and Hoang Mai Town; Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command; Nghe An Maritime Port Authority; Fisheries Sub-Department and related units to implement the following contents:

1. Organize serious on-duty teams, closely monitor the development of tropical depressions; promptly notify people and owners of vessels operating at sea to proactively take preventive measures; have appropriate production plans to ensure safety of people and property.

2. Prepare rescue forces and means to respond when requested; Request the PCTT-TKCN Command Committees of districts, localities and related units to pay attention to implementation./.
