(Baonghean.vn) - This is the affirmation of the leaders of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training regarding the implementation of online teaching in the next school year, the 2021-2022 school year.

Ensure conditions for organizing online teaching

Previously, as planned right after the ceremonyopening ceremonyNghe An province will organize online teaching for all levels from primary to high school in three different time frames. In particular, primary school will teach from 5pm to 9pm every day. On Saturdays and Sundays, students can study at other time frames after agreement with parents. For secondary school: from 7am to 12pm every day and high school: from 1pm to 5pm and after 9pm every day.

However, there are also concerns surrounding online teaching, especially when the current teaching conditions of schools and many parents in different regions are also different.

Through an exchange with Nghe An Newspaper, Mr.Thai Van Thanh– The Director of the Department of Education and Training admitted that there are still many difficulties inonline teaching: One of the most difficult problems today is the means and equipment. Currently, the lowland districts have both completed and supplemented the facilities over the last school year and now about 90% of students can study online. In mountainous districts alone, it is estimated that 60% of students can attend.

However, in the current context, the Director of the Department of Education and Training said: Online teaching for students from grades 1 to 12 is the most optimal solution at present and the Department of Education and Training has also organized it since the previous school year. To prepare for the implementation across the province, over the past week the Department of Education and Training has worked with network operators to complete the LMS system - Smart Education Management Center and this will support and create conditions for Nghe An education to implement online teaching well and ensure quality.

In addition, to teach online, it is important to have a server with high bandwidth, ensuring a stable connection. However, Nghe An is a large province with a large number of students. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training has a plan to divide the study time between levels to limit network congestion and ensure quality connection.

Only teach online the simplified parts and self-study parts

In the current context, Mr. Thai Van Thanh also said: Compared to direct teaching, online teaching will certainly have many difficulties and in reality only supports teachers and schools in the context of fighting the epidemic with simplified knowledge and self-study parts with teacher guidance.

Therefore, the basic, core, focused and prerequisite knowledge required for students to be able to study in higher grades will be deployed when the epidemic subsides and students can go to school to teach directly to ensure quality.

To implement effective teaching and learning, the education sector has also directed the education and training departments to require schools to grasp the situation and characteristics of students and their families in order to have support plans.

In particular, with mountainous education, due to its own characteristics, there will be a combination of online and in-person. Discussing this, the head of the education sector added: For remote and isolated villages without an epidemic, teachers must receive tasks from the head of the professional group, from the school and assign work to students. In the current context, the sector may mobilize more preschool teachers who have not yet gone to school to support primary and secondary school teachers in traveling between schools to deliver homework to students.

Another concern now is online teaching for first and second graders. Regarding this issue, Mr. Thai Van Thanh said that the Department has assigned the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City and a number of other districts and towns to organize sample lectures and create a system of learning materials for first graders in the whole province to participate in. In particular, the policy is to deploy simple lessons to help children get used to going to school from holding a pen, how to sit, how to pronounce... Parents do not need to worry too much, because we determine that teaching and learning will be done step by step, slowly but surely, "cannot be rushed".

According to Mr. Thai Van Thanh: When the epidemic has stabilized, we can increase the time of studying at school, including studying 2 sessions a day or taking extra classes on Saturdays and Sundays. This will be the golden time to supplement the missing knowledge.

Regarding online teaching, on August 29, the Department of Education and Training continued to issue a guidance document. The document also clearly stated: Depending on the specific conditions of each unit, parents and students of each class, the school principal proactively and flexibly uses many solutions and forms of teaching organization as follows: online, online combined with direct, or other solutions such as direct assignment, assignment form, via zalo, messenger..., to complete the program.

During the time students are online, schools select basic knowledge content according to the levels of recognition and understanding (level 1, level 2) to teach, guiding students to self-study and complete the lesson content. The remaining skills and higher levels are taught to students when studying directly.

Regarding teaching on the LMS system, it will also be deployed at different levels. For primary school, in the immediate future, to facilitate students, parents, and teachers in implementing online teaching, within 01 month (from September 6, 2021 to October 6, 2021), educational institutions and teachers can flexibly teach online on different software. During this time, while teaching, conduct, check, review, prepare, and supplement the necessary conditions to ensure teaching on the LMS system. From October 7, 2021 onwards, online teaching must be deployed synchronously in all educational institutions on the LMS system.

For junior high and high school levels: Deploy on the LMS system right from the beginning of the school year, the first week focuses on reviewing and systematizing learned knowledge while checking, reviewing, and supplementing necessary conditions to ensure synchronous teaching and learning organization on the LMS system.

In addition, educational institutions should review and grasp the conditions and circumstances of each student, and have timely support plans for students in difficult circumstances who do not have enough equipment and are unable to participate in online learning.
