Nghe An will participate in the Vietnam - Russian Federation Friendship Year 2019

Welcoming Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh quickly informed about the location plan for the VILenin Monument in Vinh City. Accordingly, the statue will be placed on VILenin Avenue - a solemn and beautiful street located in the city center, one of the symbols of Nghe An - Ulyanovsk friendship.

Speaking with the leaders of Nghe An province, Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh highly appreciated the exchange and twinning activities between Nghe An province and Ulyanovsk province, Russian Federation. These are two provinces with deep ties and historical affections, the two localities are the homelands of two great people: Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and President Ho Chi Minh.

A testament to this friendship is the Ho Chi Minh Monument built and solemnly placed in the Square named after him in the city of Ulyanovsk.

Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh said that the Ulyanovsk provincial government really wants to place a monument to leader VI Lenin in Vinh City, in order to further strengthen this special relationship. Conveying the message from the Governor of Ulyanovsk province, the Ambassador said that the leaders of Ulyanovsk province expressed their desire to visit Nghe An province, the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh.

In addition to cultural exchange activities, the Ulyanovsk provincial government also hopes to cooperate with Nghe An province to establish a free trade complex, not only creating a space for connecting investors and businesses of the two provinces, but also a place for cultural and culinary exchange activities.

In particular, 2019 was chosen as the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year, aiming to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the two countries after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Therefore, Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh suggested that Nghe An province actively participate in exchange programs and activities, aiming to create a channel of interaction between Nghe An and the Russian Federation in general.

Receiving the requests from Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh said that in 2019, Nghe An province will carefully plan to welcome the working delegation of the Governor of Ulyanovsk province on the occasion of the 129th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19).

Nghe An also proactively focused on completing the procedures related to receiving the Lenin Monument and carrying out the work of placing the statue locally, completing this project early in 2019.

Looking forward to the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Year, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Nghe An will participate in cultural and artistic exchange activities between the two countries, and requested relevant departments and branches to soon develop specific plans and projects for the areas in which the province will participate in the overall program of the whole country.
