On the afternoon of March 29, the Department of Information and Communications held a meeting to discuss and approve the Plan to organize Vietnam Book Day in Nghe An province in 2019. Vietnam Book Day in Nghe An province aims to build and develop the reading movement in social life, towards building a learning society, affirming the important role of books, building a reading culture in the community; promoting the collection, research, creation, publication and promotion of good and valuable books...

According to the plan, activities in response to Vietnam Book Day in Nghe An province will be held from April 1 to April 30, 2019. In particular, key activities will be held from April 16 to April 25; activities at the provincial level will take place from April 15 to April 21.

Vietnam Book Day in Nghe An province takes place with the following activities: Organizing responses throughout the province, first of all in the school system chaired by the Department of Education and Training; at the Provincial Library and the district library system in the whole province chaired by the Department of Culture and Sports; provincial departments, branches, sectors, unions and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns based on their functions and tasks to organize specific response activities.

At the provincial level, Book Day is celebrated with the following activities: Organizing Book Street 2019 from April 19 to April 21 at Ho Chi Minh Square and donating books to schools in districts chaired by the Department of Information and Communications.

At the meeting, representatives from departments, agencies and sectors gave their opinions and discussed the issue of launching a reading movement such as: collecting books to support people in remote areas; organizing reading clubs; encouraging the construction and development of friendly school library models.
