(Baonghean.vn) - According to the report of the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the epidemic areas of Tuong Duong and Con Cuong have been provided with 6,000 doses of vaccine to prevent anthrax.

Mr. Vi Xuan Phong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district said that currently, veterinary agencies at all levels are conducting vaccinations in 8/8 villages of the commune.

Up to now, out of a total of more than 70 buffaloes and cows infected with the disease in the two communes of Yen Thang and Xieng My (Tuong Duong), 21 have been cured and 3 are being treated.

In Lang Khe commune (Con Cuong), statistics show that up to now, 27 buffaloes and cows have been infected with anthrax, mainly concentrated in Dong Tien village. Of these, 9 have died, 13 have been cured according to the new regimen and 5 are being treated.

Currently, the provincial veterinary agency is directly vaccinating against anthrax in two affected villages, Dong Tien and Chom Lom, and four neighboring villages (Huoi Mac, Khe Thoi, Pieng Khu and Boong village).

However, due to the custom of letting buffalo and cows roam freely in the forest of ethnic minorities, vaccination work is difficult and the vaccination time is prolonged.

According to data from the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, up to now the Department has grantedTuong Duong district borrowed 4,000 doses of anthrax vaccine (divided into 2 batches) along with 84 liters of anti-epidemic chemicals and 300 liters of disinfectant chemicals.

Con Cuong district has received 2,000 doses of anthrax vaccine, 2,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and 100 liters of chemicals in the national control program and vaccines for mountainous areas; deployed epidemic prevention and vaccination for the autumn crop on livestock.

Currently, all districts in the province are being provided with vaccines for the autumn crop, which is expected to be completed by October 15. At the same time, the Department of Animal Health also provided 8 tons of disinfectant chemicals to prevent diseases for livestock in the province./.
