Nghe An: Traffic accidents decrease during 6 days of Tet

(Baonghean.vn) - According to Nghe An Police, during the 6 days of Lunar New Year holiday, there were 3 traffic accidents in the province, a decrease of 4 cases compared to the same period last year.

On the afternoon of January 28, 2020 (the 4th day of Tet), Nghe An Provincial Police held a conference to review the security and order situation during the 6 days of Tet (from December 29 to the 4th day of Tet).

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2020, the security and order situation in the area was basically stable, people enjoyed Tet and welcomed Spring in a joyful, excited, safe and healthy atmosphere.

During the above period, the whole province had 5 criminal cases, mostly small cases. The local police units in the province regularly maintained the Traffic Police force in coordination with other forces to organize patrols, control, and direct traffic at key areas, routes, and intersections.

Therefore, traffic congestion should not occur, especially on national highways, entertainment and shopping venues, spiritual tourist destinations, etc., to serve people's safe and convenient travel.

It is worth noting that people strictly comply with the Law on Prevention and Control of Alcohol Harm and Decree No. 100 of the Government on administrative penalties for violations in the field of road and railway traffic. During the 6 days of Tet holiday, there were 3 traffic accidents in the province, a decrease of 4 cases compared to the same period last year.

This year, thanks to the involvement of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots, the illegal use of fireworks, especially on New Year's Eve, has decreased significantly compared to previous years. On New Year's Eve alone, the authorities discovered and seized nearly 13 kg of various types of fireworks.
