Nghe An strengthens management, prevention and combat of violations of laws on weapons, explosives and supporting tools.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Document No. 212/UBND-NC dated January 9, 2025 directing the strengthening of management, prevention and combat of violations of the law on weapons, explosives and supporting tools.
The document stated: In 2024, implementing the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the provincial departments, branches, sectors, mass organizations, and the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns have implemented the work of managing, preventing and combating violations of weapons, explosives and supporting tools (VK, VLN, CCHT) with many outstanding results; contributing to maintaining security, political stability, social order and safety, effectively serving the socio-economic development tasks of the province.

From January 2024 to present, the whole province has mobilized to collect 4,677 guns of all kinds, 2,151 primitive weapons, 93 support tools, 2,661 bullets, 68 grenades, bombs and mines...; discovered and arrested 51 cases, 127 subjects with violations of the law on weapons, explosives, and explosives, seized 45 guns, 166 kg of explosives, 229 primitive weapons and many other weapons.
However, the situation of crime and violations of laws on weapons, explosives, and explosives is still a hot issue, with potential risks of complexity, causing insecurity and disorder.
In order to strengthen the management, prevention and fight against crimes and violations of laws on weapons, explosives and explosives, contributing to ensuring security, order and absolute safety for major political and social events of the country, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2025, the Provincial People's Committee requests Directors of Departments, Heads of provincial-level departments and branches, Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct the implementation of the following contents:
- Thoroughly grasp, seriously, resolutely and effectively implement the directive documents of the Government, the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on the management, prevention and combat of violations of weapons, explosives and explosives, and combating violations of the law on weapons, explosives and explosives.

- Strengthen propaganda and mobilization of people in the implementation of crime prevention and combat, violations of laws on weapons, explosives, and explosives, in conjunction with the mass movement to protect national security. Identify this as a key and especially important measure in implementing the work.
- Synchronously and flexibly use measures in propaganda work, such as: Propaganda on mass media, social networking sites, grassroots radio and television systems, billboards, posters; bring this content into the activities of socio-political organizations, grassroots community activities; enlist the help of prestigious people, village elders, village chiefs, religious dignitaries in the community to propagate and mobilize...
The propaganda content focuses on disseminating and thoroughly understanding the provisions of the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives, and Explosives and guiding documents for implementation; consequences, harms, dangers and handling forms for violations of weapons, explosives, and explosives.
- People's Committees of districts, cities and towns launch a movement for the entire population to protect national security in detecting and denouncing violations of weapons, explosives and combat gear; maintain and expand models and clubs for effective crime prevention and combat, early detection and timely resolution of conflicts among the people; organize and mobilize people to commit not to illegally produce, trade, transport, store or use weapons, explosives and combat gear; promptly commend, reward and expand good models, good people, good deeds, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in carrying out this work.
- The Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns shall direct the organization of points for receiving weapons, explosives and supporting tools for people to hand over at the People's Committee headquarters, Border Guard stations (if any) or the Commune, Ward and Town Police for people to hand over. After receiving, it is necessary to properly classify, preserve, liquidate and destroy weapons, explosives and supporting tools according to the provisions of law.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested departments, branches and localities to effectively implement state management of weapons, explosives and combat gears, and minimize the conditions and possibilities for crimes and violations of laws related to weapons, explosives and combat gears.
