Nghe An strengthens solutions to build new rural areas in villages and hamlets
(Baonghean.vn) - The province will absorb and research to supplement the construction and development of new rural areas in villages and hamlets in the coming time.
That was the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu at the workshop on new rural construction in villages and hamlets associated with socio-economic development in Western Nghe An on the morning of December 26.

674 villages and hamlets meet new rural standards
Report at the conference xThe construction of new rural areas in villages and hamlets associated with the socio-economic development of the Western Nghe An region of the province shows that after 3 years of implementing the construction of new rural areas in mountainous districts of Nghe An, up to now, 674 villages and hamlets have met the new rural standards. Of which, 570 villages and hamlets are in disadvantaged mountainous communes.

During the implementation process, localities have had creative ways and approaches suitable to the actual situation of the locality to implement. Helping people promote their role as the subject, pushing back the mentality of waiting and relying, creating a competitive atmosphere among families, clans, and between villages and hamlets.
Many localities have linked the construction of new rural areas at the village and hamlet level with community tourism to preserve the cultural identity of the village. Typical examples include the community tourism model in Nua village, Pha village, Yen Khe commune (Con Cuong), Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune (Con Cuong), Xieng village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong), Yen Thanh village, Luc Da commune (Con Cuong), Hoa Tien village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau), Thai Minh village, Tien Ky commune (Tan Ky)...
Nghe An has set a target of 80% of the extremely disadvantaged villages and hamlets in the province meeting new rural standards in the 2021-2025 period. Currently, there are 104 villages and hamlets in communes that have not been recognized as meeting new rural standards.
Building sustainable development in Western Nghe AnThe workshop focused on analyzing 3 groups of issues: Sharing some typical successful models in building new rural areas inside and outside the province. The shortcomings, difficulties and obstacles in the process of building new rural areas in villages and hamlets in the province and proposing groups of solutions to build new rural areas in villages and hamlets, aiming to build a sustainable development of Western Nghe An.

Mr. Ho Xuan Hung - Former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chairman of the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development highly appreciated Nghe An for its achievements in building new rural areas in recent years. At the same time, he said that localities need to exploit the cultural identity of ethnic groups; exploit the potential and advantages of forest economic development. In order to achieve high results in building new rural areas in the coming period, Nghe An needs to review and re-evaluate the set of criteria for new rural areas in order to be able to supplement more suitable criteria.
The resources for developing Western Nghe An are enormous, but Nghe An has not yet fully exploited its potential. That is to exploit the forest economy, combining livestock farming with growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy. The locality needs to develop regional specialty plants and animals. In the coming time, localities need to continue to do a good job of propaganda, directing the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, promoting the role of the community, being open and transparent in mobilizing contributions and using resources in building new rural villages and hamlets. At the same time, pay attention to calling on organizations and businesses to invest in mountainous areas to exploit the potential and advantages in the fields of production and processing of agricultural, forestry, medicinal products, and tourism.
