The purpose and requirements of the peak law enforcement inspection period are to prevent and promptly and strictly handle violations of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing activities (anti-IUU fishing).
In addition, strengthen patrol and control activities of participating forces and coordinating forces (Border Guard, Police, local authorities and other relevant units) in combating IUU fishing. Through patrol and inspection activities, disseminate and popularize regulations on combating IUU fishing and the 2017 Fisheries Law to ship owners and captains.

The inspection content includes checking compliance with legal regulations on fishing activities and logistics services in coastal waters and offshore areas of Nghe An, focusing on checking and handling the situation of "3 no" vessels (no fishing license, expired fishing license,fishing in prohibited areasexploitation) but still go into exploitation during the period of exploitation ban.
In addition, other exploitation activities according to the Fisheries Law are also inspected, including: using prohibited fishing gear and fishing nets; using electric shock tools, explosives, and toxic substances to exploit aquatic resources; operating in violation of the contents of the Exploitation License in the exploitation area; not marking fishing vessels; not recording, not recording enough, not correctly, not submitting exploitation logs, purchase logs, and transport logs; not equipping VMS journey monitoring equipment...

The subjects and scope of inspection are fishing vessels operating in fisheries and fishing logistics services in coastal waters and offshore waters of Nghe An.
The inspection period is expected to be divided into 2 phases, of which the first phase is from February 2024 to April 2024, with 2 trips/month; the second phase is expected from May to October 2024, with 1 trip/month.
