From November 4 to 9, in Hoa Binh province, 16 delegations with more than 700 athletes from the provinces: Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Bac Can, Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Hanoi and Nghe An participated in the competition.
10 athletes of Nghe An delegation participated in 3 events: Volleyball, stick pushing and tug of war. In addition, Nghe An delegation also participated in cultural activities, arts and folk games which were also conducted interspersed with the activities of the competition.
The contest aims to promote mass sports movements in general and ethnic minority sports in particular to improve health and build cultural life for ethnic minorities in mountainous and remote areas.

This is also an opportunity to exploit and develop traditional sports and folk games in the Vietnamese ethnic community in general and Nghe An in particular. At the same time, it creates conditions for athletes to participate in sports training and competition, exchange and share experiences, and raise awareness about sports.
In addition, the contest contributes to strengthening solidarity among ethnic groups and implementing the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" at the grassroots level.
