Nghe An won big on the first day of pole pushing competition.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 4, more than 400 pole pushers entered the first day of competition at the 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training presented flowers to the athletes.

At exactly 8am, the Opening Ceremony of the Pole Pushing event was held at the Nghe An Sports Service and Competition Center. There were 442 athletes from 38 delegations nationwide, competing in 8 weight categories for both men and women. Each unit was only allowed to register 1 athlete to compete in each weight category.

The organizers took souvenir photos with the participating teams.

According to the plan, from August 4 to 9, athletes will compete in 425 matches to compete for 16 sets of medals.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the matches in the 41-44 kg, 44-47 kg for women and 47-50 kg for men took place. In the opening match in the 41-44 kg category, the host athlete Nghe An Loc Thi Hong Anh won against the athlete from Cao Bang team with a score of 2-1.

In the same event, another athlete from Nghe An, Nguyen Trang Phuong, also won 2-0 against an athlete from Hanoi.
