Nghe An: Highlights on April 1

*SApril 1, National Assembly continues the processelection of Vice President of the National AssemblyThe XIV term replaces Ms. Tong Thi Phong, Mr. Uong Chu Luu and Mr. Phung Quoc Hien - who were dismissed from their positions by the National Assembly.

After discussion in the Delegation, through the list, the delegates voted by secret ballot to elect the Vice President of the National Assembly. The results of the vote count just announced showed that Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh - Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai - Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly were elected to hold the position of Vice President of the National Assembly.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented flowers to the three new Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly. On the left of the National Assembly Chairman are Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh and Mr. Tran Thanh Man. On the right of the National Assembly Chairman is Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai.

*SOn April 1, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision.Appointment of Deputy Directors of Departments: Planning and Investment; Construction; Transport and Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the appointed comrades are well-trained officials, have held many positions and always strive to fulfill their tasks well. *NOn March 31 and April 1, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command held a conference to approvedefense land use planperiod 2021 - 2030 and vision to 2050 for districts, cities, towns and military units stationed in the province.

*TStatistics from authorities show that lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cowscontinue to spread in 5 localities, including: Quy Hop, Cua Lo Town, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong and Que Phong.

Previously, there were 12 localities with infected buffaloes and cows including: Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Nghia Dan, Anh Son, Dien Chau, Tan Ky, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai Town, Thai Hoa Town, Quy Chau, Do Luong and Vinh City.

*NApril 1, Nghe An Provincial People's Court openedfirst instance criminal trialtried two defendants Vo Dinh Canh (born 1976) and Ho Duc Muoi (born 1997), both residing in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province) for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".

Considering the role of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Vo Dinh Canh to 20 years in prison and Ho Duc Muoi to 18 years in prison, both for illegal possession of drugs.
