*NThese days, traveling along National Highway 7 through the remote district of Ky Son, it is easy to see images ofPeople sell a lot of melons.. It is called upland melon because this is a type of melon that is often grown by Mong people on upland fields intercropped with upland rice from March every year. Harvest begins in June and the season ends in September.
The melons here weigh 4-5 times more than normal melon varieties, with some weighing 1.5-2 kg. When planted, they do not need trellises, but crawl on the ground, on rocky outcrops... Currently, Ky Son has about 30 hectares of this type of melon.
