Nghe An: Highlights on September 13

* On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, September 13,General Secretary and President To Lam sent a letter to teenagers and children.Vietnamese at home and abroad, foreign children in Vietnam.

The letter reads: “This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival was not complete because natural disasters have caused serious consequences for many families, hamlets, villages, and communes. Many children have unfortunately lost their lives, many have lost loved ones, lost their homes, and are living in extremely difficult circumstances. I would like to send my deepest condolences to the relatives and families of the children who are victims of storms and floods and hope that we all have the courage to overcome this pain and loss.

For children in storm and flood areas, Uncle Ho advised them to always pay attention to safety when studying and playing. Stay away from dangerous places, do not play near rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, and always remember the words of parents and teachers to protect yourself and your friends.

The 2024 Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Plan Drill was held at the Everwin dormitory in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park. This is an area with a large concentration of workers living and working and is part of the province's key industrial park, with many large investment projects, with a high risk of fire and explosion; requiring absolute safety in fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue, etc.

*On the morning of September 13, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province coordinated with Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to organizeContract signing ceremonycoordination of aviation search and rescue work.

The purpose is to ensure coordination in search and rescue of civil aviation aircraft and military transport aircraft in the area, the administrative responsibility of Nghe An province is deployed quickly, promptly, with the highest efficiency, minimizing damage to people and property when civil aviation aircraft and military transport aircraft are in danger or in distress.

*These days, in all the fields in the localities of the province, farmers are activelywinter crop production.

This winter crop, Nghe An determined to strive to produce the highest level of area, productivity, and output according to the plan with the motto of safe production. Many localities, after harvesting the summer-autumn rice, have dredged canals and cleared the flow to prepare all conditions for production.

* According to information from Vinh City People's Committee, in the period of 2020 - 2025, Vinh City invested over 900 billion VND to implement 33 flood prevention projects.

The city is currently completing the final items of the project to renovate the sidewalk of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street; renovate the sidewalk of Le Hong Phong Street; build drainage ditches along Vi Le Nin Street, Truong Thi Street; Nghi Kim - Nghi Van drainage canal; and Doan Nhu Hai Street drainage ditch.

* To proactively prevent and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district surveyed,Warning of locations and routes that are at risk of landslides, floods, proactive response plans.

* On September 13, a leader of the Song Lam Nghe An Club said that the unit had just hadcomplaint about disciplinary decisionof the Vietnam Football Federation against the U11 Song Lam Nghe An team related to suspicions of age fraud.
