Nghe An: Highlights of March 14th

*SOn March 14th, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the People's Committee of Nghe An province jointly organized a ceremony to respond to the "The program to plant 1 billion trees.- "For a Green Vietnam," at the Truông Bồn National Historical Site, Đô Lương district (Nghệ An province). Comrade Nguyễn Xuân Phúc - Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister of the Government, attended the ceremony. Also present were: Comrade Vương Đình Huệ - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee; Phan Đình Trạc - Member of the Political Bureau, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Uông Chu Lưu - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. Also attending the event were leaders from the Ministry of Planning and Investment; the Ministry of Transport; the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; the Central Party Office; and leaders of Military Region 4 and Nghệ An province.

*CAlso on the morning of March 14th, the Prime Minister, along with leaders of central ministries and agencies and leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, attended...Opening ceremony for Cua Hoi Bridge.Spanning the Lam River, this project connects the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. It is a practical undertaking to celebrate the success of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and holds significant importance, creating momentum for the development of the marine economy, tourism, and services; promoting socio-economic development; ensuring regional security and defense; connecting National Highway 8B and National Highway 1; reducing traffic congestion on National Highway 1; ensuring traffic safety; maximizing the effective use of investment capital for the construction, upgrading, and expansion of National Highway 1; and connecting the region, promoting development in Southern Nghe An and Northern Ha Tinh.

*TDuring his working visit to Nghe An province, on the morning of March 14th, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his delegation visited...working session with provincial leadersRegarding the socio-economic development situation in 2020 and tasks for 2021, at the working session, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated and commended the efforts of the provincial leaders, Party committees, government, and people of Nghe An province for the socio-economic development results in 2020 and especially in the first two months of 2021. Particularly noteworthy was the high level of unity and consensus within the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, which left a strong impression on the Politburo.

The Prime Minister emphasized: “We are ready to listen and apply innovative mechanisms to Nghe An province for the development of the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh. Nghe An also needs to creatively apply the resolution, along with the virtues and resilience of the people of Nghe An, to awaken the aspiration for development... Therefore, the province should build a plan in a fundamental and systematic way, with strategic breakthroughs, and remove bottlenecks in development. In development, we must shift from breadth to depth, with a longer-term vision…”

*NOn March 14th, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Liaison Committee of the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi, organized a gathering of Nghe An compatriots in Hanoi to celebrate the beginning of the Lunar New Year 2021 (Year of the Ox).

During the meeting, the Nghe An Hometown AssociationCongratulations to Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc.He has just been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State; he has been awarded the 70-Year Party Membership Badge, 2 Second-Class Independence Orders, 2 Military Merit Orders (Second and Third Class), along with many other prestigious medals and awards from our State and internationally.

*NFishermen in Nghe An province earned 10 million VND in just 3 hours of offshore fishing. On the morning of March 14th, at the beach of Quynh Nghia commune (Quynh Luu district), dozens of fishing boats belonging to local fishermen returned to shore after about 3-4 hours of fishing. Observations showed that...Every boat had nets full of fish.Therefore, the locals mobilized extra manpower to help unload the fish in order to sell them to traders on time.

*TIn Yen Thanh district, about 8 km from the district center, there is aprimeval teak forestThe forest is well-protected and green in Lang Thanh commune. Local people say that to obtain this asset, many generations of people here have worked hard to preserve and protect the ironwood forest.
