Nghe An: Highlights on November 8

*SNovember 8th,Central Party Office working delegationled by comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee Office visited, encouraged and gave gifts to a number of families severely affected by recent floods in Hung Nguyen and Thanh Chuong districts (Nghe An).

At the families visited, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh and his comrades in the delegation kindly asked about and shared the difficulties and losses caused by the floods; at the same time, they hoped that the families would strive to overcome the difficulties and stabilize their lives with the support of the local Party Committee and authorities. On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also presented gifts to the families visited.

From October 28 to October 31, due to the influence of storm No. 9 combined with cold air, Nghe An experienced a period of heavy to very heavy rain, with some places experiencing exceptionally heavy rain. The rainfall was generally from 200 - 400mm/period, with some places experiencing over 500mm to 800mm/period. Heavy rain in a short period of time caused flooding on the Lam River, as well as flooding in many low-lying areas and landslides in some midland and mountainous districts. Floods and landslides caused damage, greatly affecting the lives of local people.
