Nghe An: Highlights on January 9

* In 2023, with the close and comprehensive direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the attention and support of all levels, sectors and people of all walks of life,leaders, officers and soldiers of Nghe An Policedetermined, united, made efforts to overcome all difficulties, continue to innovate, and improve the quality of all aspects of work.

Adhering to the slogan of action "building Nghe An Police to be truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern, serving the people", the Provincial Police launched the emulation movement "For national security" to develop in both breadth and depth with many drastic, creative, and breakthrough measures and solutions, contributing to the excellent completion of the 3 goals and 10 key tasks set out for 2023.

Speaking at the conference to deploy the 2024 public security work program, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy assessed and acknowledged the direct and important contributions of the provincial police force. In 2024, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested the provincial police to pay close attention to, forecast, synthesize, analyze and propose effective solutions to ensure security and order with the motto: "Proactive security", "early and remote prevention of risks and factors that can cause instability".

In agreement with the opinions expressed by the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the Deputy Minister of Public Security emphasized that 2024 is the year of acceleration and breakthrough of the term. Therefore, Nghe An Police needs to closely follow the breakthrough contents identified by the Central Public Security Party Committee to carry out the tasks.

In 2023, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the leadership role of Party committees at all levels and the participation of the political system in Nghe An have been clearly affirmed.

The Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee have maintained and spread the spirit of solidarity and unity, strictly followed the Party's organizational and operational principles, especially the principle of democratic centralism; closely followed and strictly implemented the leadership and direction of the Central Committee, the Working Regulations, and the work program of the Party Committee.

The province completed 25/28 main targets; economic growth rate reached 7.14%, ranking 26th nationwide; budget revenue exceeded 21,000 billion VND; FDI attraction set a new milestone, reaching 1.6 billion USD, ranking 8th nationwide. Economic scale maintained in the top 10 nationwide.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy commended the efforts of the entire Party Committee to achieve comprehensive, important and solid results in Party building, inspection and supervision work in 2023.

Evaluating and analyzing more clearly the achieved results; at the same time frankly pointing out the shortcomings and limitations that need to be seriously evaluated, finding the causes and having focused solutions to effectively overcome, the Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee emphasized the key tasks of 2024. This is the pivotal year of the term, it is necessary to accelerate to complete the targets of the 2020 - 2025 term; especially the implementation of 7/35 targets expected to be difficult to achieve after the mid-term assessment, of which the economy and society have 4 targets; Party building has 3 targets.

In the immediate future, advise Party committees at all levels to lead, direct and carry out well the tasks before, during and after the traditional Tet holiday of the nation to ensure joy and economy. Along with that, advise and effectively carry out tasks according to their functions and duties, especially the construction of projects, programs, mechanisms and specific policies for Nghe An to develop in the spirit of Resolution 39 of the Politburo.

Over the past 5 years, agencies, organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists have coordinated with the Border Guard force and local Party committees and authorities to build 44 works and projects in border areas; and presented 5,407 gifts to people with a total value of more than 41.2 billion VND. The Provincial Police have completed the construction of 2,500/2,820 houses for people in 6 districts in border and mainland areas.

In particular, local Party committees and authorities have effectively promoted the role of 328 village elders, hamlet (hamlet) chiefs, and prestigious people in propaganda, mobilization, and gathering the masses to participate in managing and protecting border security and sovereignty.
