Nghe An: Highlights of July 9th

* On the morning of July 9th, during a working visit to Nghe An,Vinh Phuc province delegationA delegation led by Comrade Hoang Thi Thuy Lan - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Vinh Phuc - laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site.

Before the sacred spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party Committee and people of Vinh Phuc province pledge to resolutely promote emulation movements in labor and production, building a more prosperous and developed homeland; educating generations of young people to uphold the patriotic traditions and revolutionary spirit of their forefathers; and at the same time, to effectively carry out the work of showing gratitude and appreciation, caring for wounded soldiers and martyrs, and providing good care for policy beneficiary families and families with meritorious contributions to the revolution.

*Nghe An withdraws funding from 6 public investment projects.The plan is to shift focus to three transportation projects with good disbursement progress. This decision was made by the Nghe An Provincial People's Council at its 14th session, 18th term, held recently in Vinh City.

Previously, in the report submitted by the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial People's Council, the reason for the withdrawal of funds from projects was that the planned disbursement was not expected to be fully disbursed due to procedural issues such as project adjustments or ongoing legal procedures related to the representative of the construction contractor... Some projects had large amounts of advance capital from the 2022 plan, were under construction to repay the advance, and had not yet disbursed funds or had low disbursement rates for the 2023 plan.

The projects whose public investment capital has been increased are those on the list approved by the Provincial People's Council and for which the Provincial People's Committee has assigned public investment plan targets for 2023. The additional capital for these projects must not exceed the remaining unallocated medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period.

* On the morning of July 9th, in Nam Dan district, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Forest Protection Department and related units, organized...peak period of forest fire prevention and control activitiesand clearing and collecting vegetation - Phase 1 - 2023.

This is a practical program aimed at effectively promoting the spirit of initiative and volunteerism; educating and raising awareness among union members, young people, and all segments of the population regarding participation in forest protection and fire prevention and control. This is especially important during the prolonged hot weather, which has led to recent forest fires in the province.

The launching ceremony was attended by 250 youth union members from the Provincial Youth Union, Nam Dan district, and soldiers of the armed forces. Immediately after the ceremony, the youth union members and armed forces personnel received tools to create firebreaks and clear undergrowth in the forests of Nam Dan district at 9 locations, with a total length of over 1 km, concentrated in the area of ​​King Mai Hac De's tomb, Dun Mountain, etc.

* The State Treasury of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son district and Bao Nam commune, organized the ceremony.Two "Great Solidarity" houses handed over to poor households.They faced many housing difficulties in the area. Two houses were completed, each with an area of ​​80 square meters.² The total construction cost was over 200 million VND, of which the State Treasury of Nghe An province supported each household with 50 million VND, and the rest was covered by the families themselves.

In addition, to share the difficulties with the locality and support the livelihoods of poor households, newly-escaped-from-poverty households, and near-poor households in the commune, from the funds contributed by officials and employees of the Provincial State Treasury, the unit donated 5 breeding cows, each worth 15 million VND, to 5 disadvantaged families residing in the villages of Phia Khoang, Huoi Lau, Xa Long, and Khe Nap, in Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district.

* The Ky Son District Police have just issued a decision.Initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect.Regarding Vi Thi Thoan (born in 1977), residing in Ban Hong Tien, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province, for the crime of "Human trafficking".

Previously, through intelligence gathering, the Ky Son District Police discovered a suspected human trafficking ring operating in the area with sophisticated methods and tactics, so they established a special task force to combat it.

After gathering sufficient evidence, on July 7, 2023, the Ky Son District Police successfully cracked the case and issued an arrest warrant for Vi Thi Thoan for the crime of "human trafficking".

The case is currently being investigated and expanded by the Ky Son District Police.
