Prosecution of subjects buying and selling women across the border
(Baonghean.vn) - Ky Son District Police have just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Vi Thi Thoan (born in 1977), residing in Ban Hong Tien, Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son District, Nghe An Province for the crime of "Human trafficking".
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Ky Son District Police discovered a suspicious line of human trafficking that had occurred in the area before with sophisticated methods and tricks, so they established a special project to fight.
During the investigation, the Investigation Committee determined that: While in China, Vi Thi Thoan became acquainted with Vi Thi H. (also married and living in China). Here, Vi Thi H. asked Vi Thi Thoan to find someone, introduce them and hand them over to H. to take them to the border to sell for profit. If successful, H. would share the "commission" with Thoan. Vi Thi Thoan agreed.
After that, Thoan returned to Vietnam and learned that Ms. Kh. TM (born in 1993), residing in Veu 4 village, Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province, was in difficult circumstances. Using many tricks, Vi Thi Thoan enticed and deceived Ms. M. into agreeing to cross the border. After that, Vi Thi Thoan and Vi Thi H. sold Ms. M. to a Chinese man to marry for a price equivalent to more than 120 million VND. Vi Thi H. gave Vi Thi Thoan a salary of 30 million VND.
After a period of being sold as a wife in China, due to a life of extreme confinement, being confined and beaten by her husband's family, and taking advantage of her husband's family's negligence, Ms. M. escaped, returned to Vietnam and filed a complaint against Vi Thi Thoan for human trafficking to the Ky Son District Police.
After collecting sufficient evidence, on July 7, 2023, Ky Son District Police successfully broke the case and issued an arrest warrant for Vi Thi Thoan for "Human trafficking".
Currently, the case is being continued to be investigated and expanded by the Ky Son District Police.
