Murder charges against the man who drove his car straight into a traffic police officer
On August 20, the Investigation Police Agency initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained Tran Dai Phong (from Quang Tri province) to investigate the crime of murder.
Previously, on the morning of August 11, the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung, was on duty.traffic controlOn National Highway 1A, through Ward 5, Lien Huong Commune, Tran Dai Phong was found driving a motorbike, carrying a passenger behind, at a very high speed.
When detecting the police, the subject did not stop the vehicle as ordered by the working group but continued to drive at high speed, hitting Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung while he was signaling for the subject to stop the vehicle.
A camera from a nearby resident recorded that Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung was hit in the middle by the suspect's motorbike, thrown into the air, and rolled about 5 meters away from the scene. The strong impact from being hit by a car and falling from a height to the ground caused Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung to have a broken left leg, many injuries to his face and arms, and to be unconscious on the spot.
After receiving first aid, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung was transferred by his teammates to the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital for surgery and treatment. His health is gradually recovering, but it will take a long time before he can walk normally.
Immediately after the incident, Tran Dai Phong was restrained, arrested and taken to Lien Huong Commune Police Station to assist in the investigation. The person sitting behind Tran Dai Phong was slightly injured and was transferred by the police to Tuy Phong Regional Medical Center for examination and treatment.
