According to a summary by the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, on July 15th alone, the first day of the "National Day for the Surrender of Weapons, Explosives, Support Tools, and Fireworks" campaign in 2024, local police forces throughout the province collected 380 firearms (8 military firearms, 372 homemade firearms); 208 bullets; 8 grenades and various types of warheads; 0.8 kg of explosives; 6 detonators; 10 meters of slow-burning fuse; 18 kg of explosive precursors; 13 support tools; 452 rudimentary weapons; 1 component for assembling weapons; 477 firecrackers and firework boxes; and 9 kg of explosives.

To achieve these results, the police forces at all levels proactively advised local Party committees and authorities on the implementation of the Provincial Police Director's plan to launch a high-intensity campaign to raise awareness and encourage people to surrender and combat crimes and violations of laws on weapons, explosives, supporting tools, and fireworks in 2024 in an effective and practical manner.

Regarding future plans, along with focusing on propaganda to encourage people to surrender weapons, explosives, and supporting tools that are still being stored, local police will continue to review and compile lists of individuals with previous convictions, suspected criminal activities related to weapons, explosives, supporting tools, and fireworks for monitoring, management, and combating. In addition, they will strengthen intelligence gathering in their areas to promptly detect, combat, and arrest individuals showing signs of illegally manufacturing, storing, or trading weapons, explosives, and supporting tools.
