Nghe An: Revoking and canceling 62 projects

| On the afternoon of July 27, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to review slow-progressing projects for further recovery. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Also attending the meeting were leaders of departments, branches, and the People's Committees of Vinh City and Cua Lo Town. |
From 2014 to 2017, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee established 4 interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect 357 projects. Of which, 75 projects were inspected in 2014; 74 projects were inspected in 2015; 103 projects were inspected in 2016 and 105 projects were inspected in 2017.
Of which, the decision to revoke and cancel from 2014 to 2017 is 62 projects. Specifically, in 2014, 24 projects were revoked; in 2015, 12 projects were revoked; in 2016, 27 projects were cancelled and revoked; in 2017, 3 projects were revoked.
The Department of Planning and Investment requests the Provincial People's Committee: For projects that have been implemented and are in the extension period, it is requested to direct the People's Committees at district levels to urge, monitor and create favorable conditions for investors to implement, and propose solutions to difficulties and problems.
For projects that have been extended and during the implementation period, the People's Committees of the districts are assigned to urge, monitor and grasp the implementation status and projects of the Investors. Monthly report to the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation status.

For projects that have exceeded the allowed extension period but have not been implemented and there is no objective reason, it is recommended that the Provincial People's Committee Office review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to handle them.
At the meeting, some localities also said that it is necessary to resolutely revoke projects and should not continue to extend them, especially for projects that have not been implemented.
After listening to the opinions, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded: For the 62 revoked projects, it is necessary to continue to attract new investment. For the 88 projects that are being extended, the Department of Planning and Investment needs to review and coordinate with other sectors to monitor.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested that the Departments, branches and sectors must submit documents to the Provincial People's Committee on the projects that must be revoked by August 30 at the latest. He requested that by September 30, the Chairmen of the People's Committees of cities and towns review all types of projects and send them to the Provincial People's Committee for the Provincial People's Committee to make a decision.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also proposed that from now on, projects should not be divided into groups chaired by departments, branches and sectors, but only an interdisciplinary inspection team should be established for joint inspection.
