(Baonghean.vn) - This was one of the outstanding results in the report on the implementation of the socio-economic, national defense and security plan and foreign affairs work of Nghe An province in the first six months of 2015 at the Provincial Party Committee meeting chaired by Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, on the afternoon of June 30.

Entering 2015, the province's economy continued its recovery trend amidst the overall economic context of the country and the world. Total budget revenue in the first two quarters was estimated at 3,960.6 billion VND, an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period last year. The GDP growth rate in the first six months was estimated at 6.51%, higher than the same period in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Industrial production is showing signs of recovery, with the Industrial Production Index (IPP) for the first six months of the year estimated to increase by 8.99% compared to the same period last year. Several major projects have been started, such as: Song Lam Cement Plant, Hoa Son Cassava Starch Processing Plant, the raw water supply system for water treatment plants in Vinh City, Tuan Loc Industrial Park, Cua Lo Port (berths 5 and 6), Hoa Sen Steel Plant, etc.

In summary, during the first six months of 2015, the socio-economic and national defense security situation remained stable, and the tasks and objectives were basically completed. However, some limitations remained, such as slow economic growth; inadequate control and timely response to forest fires and droughts caused by extreme weather events; and the national target program for building new rural areas not progressing as planned.

After listening to the reports and opinions of the comrades in the Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc concluded that it is necessary to focus on removing difficulties for production, business and enterprise development to promote growth; taking care of social welfare, protecting the environment; ensuring national defense and security, and social order. It is necessary to strengthen the direction and supervision of the implementation of the 2015 Plan in conjunction with Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo and create consensus among the people as well as the political system.
