Reporting on the socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2021, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Xuan Duc said that the total product in the province (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2021 is estimated at 17,963.44 billion VND, up 6.73%. Of which, the industrial - construction sector increased the most with 11.7%; the industrial development index is estimated to increase by 21.27% over the same period.

In addition, total retail sales of goods, revenue from accommodation and catering services, and the number of tourists all increased compared to the same period. The disbursement of public investment capital in the first two months of 2021 only reached 3.76%, but units and investors have committed to reach 16.91% in the next three months.

According to the Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, the budget revenue in the first quarter is estimated at 4,122 billion VND, equal to 29.4% of the estimate. As of March 17, 2021, the province has granted new projects and adjusted 27 projects; the total newly granted and increased investment capital is 7,015.53 billion VND. In the first quarter, 398 new enterprises were established, an increase of 4.57% over the same period.

The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and direction, focusing on organizing good conditions for people to enjoy the Spring Festival and welcome the Lunar New Year. Social security work is given attention; Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control continues to be implemented resolutely.
