(Baonghean.vn) - In order to connect maritime transport, seaport and logistics services between enterprises and investors participating in export activities in industrial parks, on the afternoon of August 30, in Cua Lo Town, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone coordinated with Vietnam National Shipping Lines and Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company to organize a workshop to promote import and export of container goods through Cua Lo port.

Mr. Le Tien Tri - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, leaders of Vietnam National Shipping Lines, representatives of SITC Vietnam Shipping Line and Nghe Tinh Port co-chaired the workshop.

Also attending the workshop were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, Nghe An Customs Department, industrial park infrastructure investors, import-export and logistics service enterprises in the area.

Nghe An currently has 1,500 investment projects, of which over 100 FDI projects are in effect, with an investment capital equivalent to 4.2 billion USD. With the attention of the province, the transport infrastructure and seaports have also been significantly improved, so the need to connect and searchlogistics servicesbetween businesses, investors, and importers and exporters in economic zones and seaports is increasing.

Based on the introduction of the fleet capacity and owners of 15 major ports from North to South, a representative of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) said that the transport capacity accounts for 25% of the country's maritime transport market share. Currently, the company is making efforts to invest in improving the quality of logistics and maritime transport at home and abroad.

Nghe Tinh Port includes 2 areas at Cua Lo and Ben Thuy with 4 wharves with a total wharf length of 800 m; warehouse system with an area of ​​nearly 150,000 m2; port area 26,000 m2Currently, piers 1 and 2 have a depth of -8.5 m and can accommodate 15,000-ton ships; piers 3 and 4 have a depth of -9.5 m and can accommodate 25,000-ton ships.

Over the years,Nghe Tinh porthas gradually risen to meet the needs of goods trading and international integration. In 2021, the volume of goods passing through the port was 4.649 million tons, of which container cargo was 86,449 teus (containers, equivalent to 2.2 tons). In 2022, for the first timeCua Lo Port welcomes international ship carrying 1,000 TEUs, equivalent to 23,000 tons entering the port. To meet the needs of trade and cargo transportation, the port is investing in building piers 5 and 6 with a depth of -13.7 so that 70,000-ton ships can receive and transfer.

In addition to the above advantages, at the workshop, representatives of investors and enterprises in the economic zone also raised some situations related to procedures for exporting goods at enterprises; hoping that the sea transport service from Hai Phong port will be moved to Nghe An ports to facilitate the export of small container goods;...

Based on listening to the opinions and presentations, representatives of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Vietnam National Shipping Lines and Nghe Tinh Port responded to a number of related issues; at the same time, they said they would absorb and advise competent authorities to improve service quality./.
