Nghe An promotes rural trade

(Baonghean.vn) - On May 26, the Farmers' Association and the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An province signed a cooperation program to develop rural trade for the period 2015-2020.

Over the past 3 years, the two sectors have coordinated to build 259 economic models; contributing to promoting the potential advantages of each region. A number of new industries have been gradually formed, creating jobs and income for farmers such as: mushroom production in Yen Thanh district; incense export in Quy Chau district; seafood processing in Cua Lo town, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, etc.

To support farmers in developing production associated with product consumption, the two sectors have coordinated to direct districts, cities and towns to participate in domestic fairs and exhibitions, organize bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas; survey and select products to participate in the program to vote for typical agricultural products.

In 2014 and 2015, Nam Dan soy sauce, Yen Thanh herbal purple rice, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Corporation red rice, Van Phan fish sauce, and Dien Chau district lotus peanuts were voted as typical agricultural products.

In the 2016-2020 cooperation program, the Farmers' Association and the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade continue to promote the development of rural trade, thereby contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of farmers, developing the agricultural and rural economy and building new rural areas.
