Nghe An: Confiscated thousands of moon cakes of unknown origin
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Market Management Force inspected and temporarily seized many moon cakes and children's toys of unknown origin and of violent nature.

Implementing the direction of the General Department of Market Management, Nghe An Provincial Market Management Department on strengthening market inspection and control during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2021, within 4 days (from September 14 to 17), Nghe An Provincial Market Management Department handled 15 cases, collecting fines of over 90 million VND, including 480 types of violent children's toys such as plastic guns, plastic swords; 51 types of children's toys of unknown origin; 1,450Moon cakes of unknown origin; 85 expired cakes and 15 expired packages of baking ingredients.
Specifically, most recently, on September 17, Market Management Team No. 10 inspected businesses selling goods to serve shopping needs during the holiday season.Mid-Autumn Festivalin Hung Nguyen district. Through inspection, Nguyen Thi Canh's business household, located at block 15, Hung Nguyen town, was selling 25 plastic guns and 40 plastic swords at its stall; Mr. Tran Ngoc Oanh's stall, located at block 15, Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district, was selling 80 plastic toy guns for children.

All of the above goods were manufactured abroad. At the time of inspection, the business owners could not present invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods. Market Management Team No. 10 drew up an administrative record for the act of trading in smuggled goods; confiscated all the violating goods including 105 plastic guns and 40 plastic swords with a total value of 5,675,000 VND.
Previously, on September 15, Market Management Team No. 8, Nghe An Province Market Management Department coordinated with Anh Son District Police to inspect the facility.children's toy businessowned by Mr. Nguyen Kim Tri, located at Hoa Son market, hamlet 3, Hoa Son commune (Anh Son). Upon inspection, it was discovered that the business was selling 185 plastic guns and 125 plastic toy swords of various types made in China, with a total value of 9,300,000 VND.
At the time of inspection, the business owner could not present invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods. Market Management Team No. 8 imposed an administrative fine of VND3,000,000 and confiscated all of the above goods.

After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the force will control the collection and handling of expired products, products that do not meet quality standards and are sold at discounted prices, on promotion or reused to produce other products that are unsafe during use. If violations are detected, the force will promptly coordinate with the authorities to trace the origin and suspend the circulation of the product to ensure the rights and health safety of consumers.
