(Baonghean.vn) - It is forecasted that from the evening of August 10 to August 12, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have widespread rain of 100-200mm/period, in some places over 250mm/period; there is a high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous provinces and flooding in low-lying areas.

This morning, August 10, before the complicated developments of storm No. 2, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province continued to haveurgent dispatchon proactive response measures.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting: At 7:00 a.m. on August 10, the center of the storm was located at about 19.2 degrees North latitude; 111.7 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of Hainan Island (China), about 480km East Southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 8-9, gusting to level 11.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move in a West-Northwest direction, traveling 15-20km per hour. At 7:00 a.m. on August 11, the center of the storm will be at about 21.0 degrees North latitude; 107.8 degrees East longitude, in the sea northwest of the Gulf of Tonkin.

3. Implement measures to ensure the safety of aquaculture cages and watchtowers; do not leave people on boats or watchtowers when bad weather occurs. Be ready to drain floodwaters to protect agricultural production, low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial zones.
