The exam will take place over three days from April 11 to 13 with 9 subjects including Office Informatics, Household Electricity, Gardening, Motorcycle Repair, Forestry, Cooking (High School) and Office Informatics, Cooking, Household Electricity (Secondary School) with two theoretical and practical contents.

The number of exam subjects also decreased by 3 subjects compared to the 2016-2017 school year. To prepare for this exam, more than 3,000 officers and teachers were mobilized to work as invigilators, graders and inspectors.

At the conference, the delegates also contributed many important ideas for the current vocational training and vocational examination. Previously, many delegates were also concerned when the Ministry of Education and Training proposed to remove the regulation of adding bonus points for candidates when enrolling in grade 10.

However, according to the secondary education program, general vocational exams are still an optional general vocational education activity for junior high school with 70 periods and a compulsory general education activity for high school with 105 periods of 11 different occupations.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Mai - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said: In the entrance exam to grade 10 for the 2018 - 2019 school year, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training still added vocational points for candidates.

Mr. Mai also noted that this is a very important exam with a wide scope and large audience, so units need to arrange and streamline the processes so that the implementation of the exam and grading is safe, serious, in accordance with regulations, and not subjective.

At this time, the general vocational exam is also the first exam, opening the exams in the 2017-2018 school year. Therefore, the implementation of the exam will be the basis for units to gain experience, prepare well the conditions of facilities and human resources, ensuring that the upcoming exams are implemented safely and effectively./.

It is expected that from the 2019-2020 school year, the addition of vocational points in the 10th grade entrance exam in the province will no longer be implemented. However, vocational exams for secondary school students will still be held if localities have the need. Vocational training is currently considered an effective solution to orient, organize streaming, and career guidance for students today.
