Nghe An continues to innovate and strengthen foreign affairs on all three pillars.
On the morning of November 13, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to and comment on the draft report on foreign affairs of Nghe An province in 2025, and at the same time discuss the foreign affairs program of Nghe An province in 2026.

Synchronous deployment on all 3 pillars
The province's foreign affairs work in 2025 will be deployed synchronously and drastically on three pillars: Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy.

State diplomacy with many exciting activities. During the year, the Provincial People's Committee organized reception and work with 14 international delegations and granted permission for 99 foreign delegations to work with agencies and units in the area.
The province also organized 59 working delegations, including 15 delegations of provincial leaders, to travel to other countries to tighten and further promote traditional friendly cooperative relationships, new partners, and open up new markets to attract investment.

Economic diplomacy has undergone profound changes in quality and quantity; connection work has been promoted, attracting FDI and ODA investment, import and export of goods, labor export... with many countries and territories.
Regarding FDI projects, in the first 10 months of 2025 alone, the province has newly granted Investment Registration Certificates to 19 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total newly registered investment capital of 301.9 million USD; adjusted capital for 15 projects with an additional adjusted capital of 675.3 million USD.

At the meeting, leaders of several provincial departments and branches gave additional comments on many achievements in foreign affairs in 2025 and some issues that need continued attention in 2026; focusing on promoting foreign affairs activities, promoting culture abroad; foreign affairs in education, science and technology, health, economic foreign affairs, attracting FDI projects...


Continue to innovate foreign affairs work
Based on the opinions of the sectors and conclusions at the meeting,Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs to receive and supplement the report on foreign affairs in 2025 and the foreign affairs program in 2026.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the important role of foreign affairs, as issued by the Politburo in Resolution No. 59, dated January 24, 2025 on international integration in the new situation; this is also one of the eight main tasks and solutions set out by the Resolution of the 20th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Therefore, in 2026, it is required to continue to strongly innovate foreign affairs; focusing on implementing Resolution No. 59 of the Politburo and the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Regarding the organization of delegations to study and work abroad, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that the funding for organizing delegations comes from the budget, so the organization of delegations must be closely researched and have results, effectiveness, and specific impacts on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and spreading the image of Nghe An people to the world.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested provincial departments, branches, and wards and communes to proactively deploy and propose to the province, ensuring that foreign affairs work in 2026 continues to be effective on all three pillars: Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy, and People's foreign affairs.
