Nghe An continues to confirm natural disasters due to heat wave in July 2020
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 3, a representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that Nghe An will continue to confirm natural disasters caused by heat waves occurring on a large scale in July 2020 in the province.

Pursuant to the regulations and decisions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the People's Committee of Nghe An province on policy mechanisms, detailed levels of natural disaster risks, policies to support agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics; at the request of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue will confirm natural disasters caused by heat waves in the area. Accordingly, the type of natural disaster to be confirmed is heat waves; time: from July 1, 2020 to July 30, 2020; location: Nghe An province.

After being officially confirmed, the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; provincial departments, branches and sectors and related units shall, based on Decree No. 02/2017/ND-CP dated January 9, 2017 of the Government, Decision No. 48/2017/QD-UBND dated June 5, 2017 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Decision No. 04/2019/QD-UBND dated February 19, 2019 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province and other current support policies of the State, focus on directing the overcoming of natural disaster consequences, allocating district-level budget reserves to restore agricultural production in the area.

At the same time, review and compile statistics on damage caused by natural disasters, report to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Finance and the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control to advise the Provincial People's Committee to support damage recovery according to current regulations.
