Nghe An: Destroyed over 111 tons of pigs infected with African swine fever

(Baonghean.vn) - During the nearly 3 months of African swine fever outbreak in the province, Nghe An has destroyed 2,594 pigs, with a total weight of over 111 tons.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Nghe An province, from March 13 to now, African swine fever has occurred in 701 households in 180 hamlets of 83 communes, 17 districts and towns in Nghe An province. The total number of infected pigs destroyed is 2,594, with a total weight of more than 111 tons.

Of which, 9 communes in 7 districts: Quynh Luu (2 communes), Hoang Mai (2 communes), Do Luong, Tan Ky, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Nghi Loc have announced the end of the epidemic. Recently, Quynh Xuan ward (Hoang Mai town) has had a relapse of the epidemic.

There are 75 communes with the epidemic in less than 30 days, in 15 districts, including: Quynh Luu 11 communes; Tan Ky 1 ​​commune, Hoang Mai town 4 wards and communes; Nam Dan 1 commune, Do Luong 1 commune; Thanh Chuong 1 commune; Nghi Loc 11 communes; Dien Chau 18 communes; Hung Nguyen 4 communes; Anh Son 1 town; Ky Son 12 communes; Yen Thanh 7 communes; Vinh city 1 ward; Con Cuong 1 commune and Tuong Duong 1 commune.

The epidemic is developing very complicatedly, especially in Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Ky Son, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh districts. In the coming time, there will be new outbreaks, because sick pigs are happening a lot in the localities.
