(Baonghean.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien hopes that Jetstar Pacific Airlines Joint Stock Company and Vietravel Company are determined to accompany Nghe An province to soon open a regular flight route Vinh-Bangkok.

At the meeting, a representative of Jetstar Pacific Airlines JSC affirmed that Thailand is a potential market. Jetstar plans to open a Vinh-Bangkok route with a frequency of 2 flights/week to serve tourists and investors coming to Nghe An and vice versa.

However, the opening of the Vinh - Bangkok route will initially face many difficulties. It is determined that the opening of the Vinh - Bangkok route must be maintained and developed long-term. Therefore, Jetstar hopes that the province will support the province with funding and improve the infrastructure.

To resolve difficulties for Jetstar and ensure the number of passengers for flights, Vietravel company commits to be the main product supplier for Jetstar and support communication.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien said that Nghe An has recently become a destination attracting Thai tourists and vice versa. In addition to tourism development, Nghe An has attracted the Thai Hemaraj Group to invest in the province. When the project is put into operation, Hemaraj will continue to attract secondary investors. These are good signs for opening a regular Vinh - Bangkok flight route.

Affirming that the opening of regular flights from Vinh to Bangkok opens up prospects for socio-economic development of Nghe An province, creating opportunities to promote the potential of exploiting international tourism; at the same time creating conditions to attract investment, tourism, and socio-economic development of the North Central region.

To open the Vinh - Bangkok flight route, the Provincial People's Committee will establish a working group led by the Department of Transport to connect with departments, branches and sectors to continue working with Jetstar and Vietravel Company to discuss and agree on solutions to make the opening of the Vinh - Bangkok flight route successful and smooth.
