Nghe An organizes the workshop 'Professor Ta Quang Buu with homeland and country'

Attending the workshop, on the Central side, there were Professor Tran Van Nhung - former Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Vice Chairman of the State Council for Professor Titles; Dr. Nguyen Quan - former Minister of Science and Technology; Major General, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Nhien - Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute and researchers from scientific research units.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, agencies, provincial-level units; leaders of Nam Dan district and Ta Quang clan.

People who have contributed a lot to their homeland and country

According to the report, ProfessorTa Quang Buuborn on July 23, 1910 in Hoanh Son village, Nam Hoanh commune (now Khanh Son commune), Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, died on August 21, 1986.

After his death, Professor Ta Quang Buu was posthumously awardedHo Chi Minh Prize(1996), Decision to adjust the posthumous award of the First Class Independence Medal to the Ho Chi Minh Medal (2013) and starting from 2013, the decision to organize the Ta Quang Buu Award to honor scientists with outstanding achievements in basic research in the fields of natural sciences and engineering, contributing to the development of the country's science and technology.

Continue to honor Professor Ta Quang Buu

The workshop “Professor Ta Quang Buu with his homeland and country” gathered more than 20 presentations. The content of the presentations and speeches revolved around the issue of continuing to affirm and honor the position, role and great contributions in all aspects of Professor Ta Quang Buu in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Thereby, drawing lessons from practical experience in leadership, direction and implementation of current tasks, contributing to strengthening and expanding foreign relations of Nghe An province in particular and the whole country in general. Concluding the workshop, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Professor Ta Quang Buu is an intelligent, multi-talented, erudite person, a courageous diplomat, an educational manager with strategic vision, and a "bridge connecting world science with Vietnam". The life and career of the Professor are typical examples in using knowledge, intelligence, and courage to serve the country.

To continue honoring Professor Ta Quang Buu, it is recommended that the Ministry of National Defense soon organize a scientific conference to properly evaluate and affirm his great contributions and merits to the process of building, fighting and growing up of the Vietnam People's Army. Add the Professor's name to the project "Military Celebrities" chaired by the Vietnam Military History Institute.

For Nghe An, it is necessary to include documents about the life and career of Professor Ta Quang Buu in the local history program so that the younger generations can understand clearly, learn from and follow his example. Based on existing documents and further exploitation, proceed to publish a comprehensive research work on the life and career of Professor Ta Quang Buu.
