Nghe An organizes the launching of Lifelong Learning Response Week
On the morning of September 29, at Thanh Chuong 3 High School, the Department of Education and Training held a launching ceremony for "Lifelong Learning Response Week" in 2024.
The program is simultaneously deployed online and connected to all schools, teachers and students across the province.

In Nghe An, in recent years, reading culture has had positive changes with the public library system expanding from the province to the district, with 1 provincial library, 19 district libraries and about 460libraryand bookcase at the commune cultural post office.
The scale of provincial and district libraries is increasingly diversified in terms of the number of books, book genres and is gradually changing when applying digital transformation platforms. In addition, bookstores are gradually being upgraded into large companies, book supermarket chains, and specialized bookstores are gradually springing up, reflecting society's acceptance of reading culture.

In addition, with the strong development of science and technology, the ability to use and apply digital transformation to reading culture has opened up easy access to a huge store of knowledge, with more convenient methods. Audiobooks, podcasts, etc. are increasingly popular.
From there, creating a favorable environment for everyone to access high-quality resources, raising awareness of reading culture by honoring writers, readers and knowledge transmitters is a key factor in the development of reading culture in each country.

At the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Khoa once again affirmed the important role of reading. Therefore, building a reading culture must start from training each individual in reading habits and reading skills.
From there, it helps each person to be proactive in seeking, acquiring knowledge, broadening their horizons and nurturing their souls. Reading books regularly will train the sense of self-study, self-training, self-discovery so that each person can constantly improve and advance.

Previously, realizing the importance and great benefits that digital transformation brings to the community and people, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 329/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2020 approving the project "Developing reading culture in the community towards 2020, with a vision to 2030".
In particular, it sets out a number of specific goals and solutions to effectively improve the reading environment, build and develop reading habits, needs, skills and movements among all classes of people.

Therefore, to effectively implement the goals of Decision 329 of the Prime Minister, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training believe that this is the responsibility of the whole society. In particular, agencies, departments, branches, and government organizations at all levels need to join hands to create conditions for each citizen to access knowledge easily and effectively.
On the part of schools, it is necessary to promote information and propaganda work for teachers, students, cadres, employees in particular and all classes of people in general about the position and role of libraries and reading culture in the learning and development process of each individual; direct the implementation of "Lifelong Learning Week" with appropriate, flexible, creative and effective forms and contents.

In addition, it is necessary to build habits, equip skills and reading methods; build policies and mechanisms to encourage students and people of all walks of life to read books; innovate the direction, management, and organization of library activities, build open libraries, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to promote socialization activities and strengthen facilities, improve staff capacity for libraries in the whole province, especially school libraries.
At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education presented 40 gifts to students in Thanh Chuong district.

In addition, the Provincial Library, Nghe An Book and School Equipment Joint Stock Company, Lifelong Learning Institute and a number of businesses donated books and many meaningful gifts to schools in Thanh Chuong district.
Within the framework of the program, participating units displayed many booths and introduced books. The Organizing Committee also awarded prizes for the “Book Cover Design and Description” Contest for students in Thanh Chuong district.
