Nghe An honors 140 OCOP star products
(Baonghean.vn) - The goal set by the OCOP Program Executive Board of Nghe An province in 2022 is to strive to have at least 100 more products reaching 3-star or higher. Of which, focusing on upgrading at least 01 4-star product to 5-star and 05 products from 03-star to 04-star.
On the afternoon of April 21, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to announce OCOP products at the provincial level in 2021 and deploy the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program in 2022. 249 products rated 3 stars
In 2021, the whole province had 140 more products from 88 subjects achieving the rank.3 star OCOPor more; of which, 139 products have achieved 3 to 4 stars and 1 product with the potential to achieve 5 stars has submitted a request for Central consideration and recognition.
Thus, the total number of products rated 3 stars or higher since the beginning of the program is 249 products (exceeding 24.5% of the Project's target by 2030); the program has also mobilized nearly 117,958 million VND to complete and improve the products.

Speaking at the conference, comradeVice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieucommended the results that the OCOP Program has achieved in the past time. In particular, it emphasized that the OCOP Program has become a widespread movement in the whole province, with the emergence of many good models, effective and creative methods, contributing to the province's agricultural products being abundant in quantity, diverse in types; quality, value, and income are increasingly high, contributing to the economic restructuring and restructuring of the agricultural sector, and building new rural areas.

Firstly, OCOP products are mainly produced by hand, with outdated technological equipment, and the application of scientific and technological advances in production is limited; Secondly, OCOP product owners have not paid attention to design, labels, packaging, and types of certificates; Thirdly, some localities have not identified their advantages and potentials, and have not paid much attention to developing new products; Some localities and owners are not interested in the program.

Striving to have over 100 products achieving 3 OCOP stars in 2022
At the conference, the participants shared their experiences in product development, packaging and labeling investment; promotion and consumption of OCOP products. At the same time, the participants also presented recommendations on policies to support infrastructure, support brand building, trademarks and trade promotion for OCOP products.
In 2022, the whole province strives to have at least 100 more products with 3-star rating or higher (an average of 4.76 products/district, city, town); Strive to have at least 15-20 new economic organizations participating in the OCOP Program in 2022 in the form of cooperatives, cooperatives, and enterprises; build at least 02 points to introduce and sell OCOP products in districts and towns; organize market connections, organize provincial fairs and participate in fairs and exhibitions in provinces nationwide; Organize forOCOP subjectParticipate in at least 3 fairs in 2022...

To achieve the above results, sectors and localities continue to resolutely direct the OCOP Program, considering it a key political task, a breakthrough in building new rural areas, especially advanced new rural areas. Review and re-evaluate the implementation of the OCOP Program in localities in the past time, overcome shortcomings so that the program becomes practical and effective, avoiding formalities that waste time and implementation costs.
At the same time, focus on training and fostering commune-level management staff, district-level professional staff and subjects of the OCOP Program; Pay attention to the policy of developing craft villages and rural industries, promote production development according to the value chain as a basis for developing products. In particular, it is necessary to check the compliance with quality commitments of economic subjects after having star-rated products; Strengthen trade promotion for the Program.
At the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded the OCOP symbolic cup, 4-star and 3-star OCOP certificates at the provincial level in 2021 to the subjects.
