Nghe An: Awarding Lao language certificates to 72 students

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 9, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province held a closing ceremony for a Lao language class for officers and soldiers of the unit and agencies located in the province.

In order to effectively carry out foreign affairs and people's diplomacy on both sides of the border between Nghe An province and Laos, Lao language classes were deployed to promptly supplement the staff of the province's departments, branches and sectors on the language, writing and customs of the neighboring country.

The course was attended by 86 students, including 35 officers from departments, agencies and branches and 51 officers from the provincial Border Guard. During the 3 months of the course, students were directly taught knowledge by Lao lecturers through 38 lessons, and the quality assessment process was seriously implemented through 3 mid-term tests, a mock test and a graduation exam.

At the end of the course, 6 students graduated with honors (8.3%), 18 students graduated with good grades (25%), and 48 students graduated with average grades (66%).

Graduates have mastered the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Lao. At the same time, they have a clear understanding of the customs, habits and cultural traditions of the host country to easily communicate and work with Lao people, thereby contributing to further fostering the especially good traditional friendship between the two sides.
