(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 12, the Provincial Police Department chaired and coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a signing ceremony for a coordination plan in building and implementing the model "Educating awareness of law compliance and life skills in schools" in Nghe An province.

The signing ceremony was chaired by Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Professor, Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training.

Also attending were representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Education and Training; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors, and representatives of districts, cities and towns in the province.

Up to now, in the whole Nghe An province, there are 1,540 schools, including 1,519 schools from kindergarten to high school with more than 870 thousand students. The situation of law and administrative violations in schools and related to officials, teachers and students still sometimes, in some places, at some times, still has many potential complications, affecting the security and order situation in the area.

On average, each year, there are more than 150 cases of traffic accidents, school drugs, school violence, theft, firecrackers, etc. directly related to students; 700 to 800 students violate the Traffic Safety Law. In particular, each year there are about 30 to 35 drowning cases causing the death of more than 50 children.

Therefore, the Provincial Police have coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to build a model of "Education on law compliance and life skills in schools" to fully equip knowledge and skills to deal with dangers as well as raise awareness of law compliance for officials, teachers and students at all levels in the province.

Accordingly, the model focuses on ensuring school security; educating awareness of law compliance and training life skills. In addition to periodically coordinating and organizing propaganda activities related to ensuring security and order in the education sector as well as how to recognize plots and methods of various types of crimes; strengthening inspection, supervision, and strict handling of violations of pawnbroking, Internet, video games, etc. that affect the learning and training of students; organizing "police semesters", training life skills, response skills to handle dangerous situations, etc.

According to the plan, by 2024, 100% of districts, cities and towns will strive to successfully implement and build the model in high schools; at the commune level, at least 3 "point" models will be built at 3 levels from preschool to junior high school. By 2028, 100% of schools in the area will strive to build this model.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department emphasized the importance of disseminating and popularizing laws, life skills and raising awareness for the generation of students, especially in the era of technology 4.0.

He believes that this model will spread and become a competitive movement among schools and students in the area. In addition, to effectively implement the model, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the entire political system, and coordination between departments, agencies and sectors to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.

The Provincial Police Director requested relevant departments and agencies to conduct research to develop a project, in-depth roadmap, and comprehensive actions to contribute to changing the security and order situation in schools, thereby improving the quality of teaching and education for the young generation - the future owners of the country.

After the signing ceremony, the units held a conference to launch the pilot model of "Educating awareness of law compliance and life skills at Huynh Thuc Khang High School", Vinh City. On this occasion, delegates presented 20 handbook sets, 30 fire extinguishers and 100 helmets to teachers and students of Huynh Thuc Khang High School.
