Nghe An deploys the task of building a safe, self-sufficient, combat-ready base in 2018

On January 15, the Steering Committee for building safe, mastered, combat-ready bases in Nghe An province held a conference to deploy the task of building safe, mastered, combat-ready bases and signed a program of coordination to carry out military-defense tasks in 2018.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Base Construction chaired the conference. According to the Steering Committee, in 2017, the classification results showed that 422/480 establishments achieved comprehensively strong results, an increase of 0.41% compared to 2016... Besides the achieved results, the conference pointed out some limitations in 2017 such as; coordination to resolve newly emerging hot issues in some localities was not timely; there were still many complaints and petitions that went beyond the level...

Faced with these shortcomings, the conference analyzed and emphasized the need to build a truly solid national defense associated with a solid people's security posture. At the same time, it is necessary to strictly maintain combat readiness, forecast the situation well, promptly and effectively handle incidents related to political security - social order and safety, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue in the entire province.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh requested the members of the Steering Committee to focus on directing local Party committees and authorities to do a good job in building forces, especially reserve forces, militia and grassroots police officers to meet the requirements of safety and control in the area. At the same time, focus on education and training on national defense and security for cadres, party members and people.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also said that it is necessary to focus on the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army, and conducting defense zone drills in localities to achieve results and ensure absolute safety. In particular, it is necessary to proactively grasp, detect, and resolutely fight against the plots and sabotage activities of hostile forces, reactionaries, political opportunists, and extremists that cause instability to the political situation at the grassroots level.
