Nghe An: Authorities dismantle a ring trafficking nearly 2 tons of firecrackers.
(Baonghean.vn) - During the search, the police seized dozens of large sacks containing firecrackers from the suspects' homes, with a total weight of nearly 2 tons.
At 11:10 PM on October 24th, under the direction of the Provincial Police leadership, in the area of National Highway 1A, section passing through Hamlet 3, Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District, Quynh Luu District Police discovered and apprehended two individuals, Luong Hong Thanh (born in 1984), residing in Bac Hamlet, Dien Hong Commune, and Nguyen Van Dung (born in 1984), residing in Trung Thanh Hamlet, Dien Hong Commune, Dien Chau District, while they were committing the crime.trading in prohibited goods.

Items seized at the scene included 82 bundles of firecrackers (49 firecrackers per bundle), with a total weight of 141 kg, a Hyundai i10 car with license plate 37A-216.56, and many other items.confiscated itemsrelated.
Luong Hong Thanh confessed that he bought the firecrackers from someone in the same commune for 650,000 VND per pack, and then, together with Nguyen Van Dung, took them to Quynh Luu district to sell to customers for 680,000 VND per pack.

Continuing the expanded investigation, on the morning of October 25th, law enforcement officers conducted simultaneous searches of the residences of the two suspects and related individuals, including: Nguyen Van Hoa (born in 1963), residing in Xuan Dinh hamlet, Dien Hong commune; Nguyen Van Duc (born in 1977), residing in Bac Block, Dien Hong commune; and Nguyen Van Linh (born in 1986), residing in Trung Thanh hamlet, Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district.
During the search, the police seized dozens of large sacks containing firecrackers from the suspects' homes, with a total weight of nearly 2 tons.
At the police station, the suspects confessed to all their crimes. According to their confessions, recognizing the demand for fireworks, especially during the end of the year, they smuggled fireworks from across the border into Nghe An province, hid them in their homes, and then resold them to buyers for illicit profit.

Previously, through intelligence gathering, around the beginning of October 2021, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police discovered signs of activity by a ring trading and transporting firecrackers from Diễn Châu District to communes in Quỳnh Lưu District for sale. A special investigation was launched to combat and dismantle this ring.
The case is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
