Nghe An: Dismantling cross-Vietnam illegal fireworks trafficking ring

Accordingly, since the end of 2021, Nghe An Provincial Police have discovered a ring illegally buying and transporting fireworks from southern border provinces to northern provinces for consumption.

After a period of monitoring, through professional measures, the police force has determined the methods, tricks and rules of operation of the subjects.

At around 11:00 a.m. on July 1, after receiving information about a large quantity of illegal fireworks being transported on the Vinh city bypass, through Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, the Environmental Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) coordinated with Hung Nguyen District Police, Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, and Traffic Police Department to organize forces to intercept, request to stop and check the passenger car with license plate 37F - 002.86 driven by Ho Dien Thu (born in 1980), residing in hamlet 6, Tan Son commune (Quynh Luu).

Through that, 5 cardboard boxes containing 100 blocks of 49-round firecrackers labeled foreign; total weight nearly 1.5 quintals.

Continuing to expand the investigation, the police force has executed an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Thi Thu Lanh (born 1977), permanent resident of Duc Minh commune, Dak Mil district, Dak Nong province, temporarily residing in Tan Canh commune, Dak To district, Kon Tum province.
