Nghe An honors 23 typical Catholic youth in 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - 23 typical Catholic youths with many contributions to the local socio-economic development and Union and Association activities were honored and rewarded by the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
On the afternoon of December 18, the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province organized a program to meet outstanding Catholic youth of Nghe An province in 2023. Attending the program were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and related units.
The program is a meaningful activity to welcome the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels towards the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province, term 2024 - 2029.
At the same time, commend and honor outstanding cadres, members and young Catholics who have made many positive contributions to the work of the Youth Union and Association at the grassroots level and in the movement.Youth participate in economic, cultural and social development in the localityChristmas 2023 is coming soon.
Speaking at the program, President of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy affirmed that in recent times, under the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, Youth Union and Association organizations in the province have organized many meaningful and practical activities towards Catholic youth.
Among them, there are many activities to support the construction of sports facilities in areas with a large number of Catholics; support Catholic youth to borrow capital for economic development; organize medical examinations, treatment, and free medicine distribution for people, and organize "Celebrate Christmas - Welcome New Year" programs that attract a large number of people to participate.
Specifically, from 2020 to present, the whole province has supported the construction of 20 volleyball courts for youth and children in areas with a large number of Catholics, organized 15 health consultation sessions, examined and treated more than 2,000 people in Catholic areas, supported 10 Catholic youth economic development models, and honored 40 outstanding Catholic youth in various fields.
In the renovation process of the province, the Catholic youth force in recent times has strived to affirm its position and role as a pioneer and volunteer on all fronts.
During the meeting, many important contributions were made to improve the quality of the Youth Union's work, Association activities and local socio-economic development programs. These are important contents to achieve the goal of successfully carrying out tasks in the first year of implementing the Youth Union Congress Resolution, and to review the mid-term implementation of the Party Congress Resolution at all levels./.
