Nghe An: Honoring 62 '5 Good Students' and 'January Stars'

In commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the traditional day of students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2021), to honor and commend exemplary students in studying and training along with excellent Union and Association officials in the year 2019 - 2020, on the afternoon of January 9, at Le Hong Phong Memorial Area (Hung Nguyen), Nghe An Provincial Student Association organized a program to honor the titles of "5 Good Students", "5 Good Student Collective" and award the "January Star" Award at the provincial level in 2020.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Van Luong - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Student Association, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council reviewed the 71st anniversary of the Vietnamese Students' Traditional Day (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2021).

Over 71 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Student Association has written glorious pages of history, marking many brilliant milestones in the heroic history of the Party, the nation and the youth.

From its initial steps, along with the development of the education sector, the Vietnamese Student Association of Nghe An province has grown steadily. Currently, the province has 9 universities and colleges with nearly 30,000 students. Pupils and students have become an important revolutionary force, contributing effectively and actively on many fronts throughout the province.

With the responsibility of being a companion to Nghe An students, the Vietnam Student Association of Nghe An province has launched the movement "5 Good Students", creating an effective environment for students to practice and improve.

Up to now, the movement has been widely deployed in all universities and colleges across the province, attracting the attention and participation of a large number of students. The promulgation of the "January Star" Award Regulations aims to contribute to encouraging and supporting the Student Union and Youth Union staff who are students; creating motivation to promote the emulation movement, study and spread good people and good deeds among Nghe An students.

Prize "January Star" is a noble award of the Provincial Student Association, to commend and reward students who are Union and Association officials with excellent achievements in studying and training, in student affairs, Union work and youth movements, creating motivation to promote emulation movements, study and identify good people and good deeds among students.

At the ceremony, Nghe An Provincial Student Association honored 37 students with the title of "5 Good Students" and 25 Union and Association officials with the "January Star" Award at the provincial level in 2020.

They are shining examples, representing the spirit of studying, training, overcoming difficulties to achieve the criteria: good morality, good study, good physical strength, good volunteering, good integration as well as exemplary Youth Union and Association cadres of Nghe An students.

Also at the celebration, the Secretariat of the AssociationVietnamese studentsNghe An province has launched a special emulation campaign from January 2021 to March 2021, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, welcoming important events of the country in 2021, welcoming the 13th National Congress of the Party.

Nghe An students will compete together to "Study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings", nurture great will, aspirations and ambitions, strive persistently to become "5 Good Students", January stars "both red and professional", knowledgeable, loving compatriots, valuing the cultural identity and traditions of the nation.

Together we struggle with the difficulties and challenges of the country, together we dedicate our talents, intelligence and enthusiasm for the prosperity of the country and the bright future of the youth; ready to take on responsibility when the Fatherland needs it.
