Nghe An: Propagating the use of energy saving and efficiency in schools

During the second half of October 2021 (from October 15 to 30), Nghe An Energy Conservation Center coordinated with the following schools: Dien Chau 3 High School, Nguyen Xuan On High School (Dien Chau), and Nguyen Thuc Truc High School (Yen Thanh), to organize energy conservation competitions.

Each contest has 3 teams of students representing their school. Contestants go through 3 rounds: greeting, multiple choice and talent round.

In the context of the rapidly increasing demand for energy consumption in our country, the world is struggling to overcome the enormous challenges of environmental destruction, traditional energy resources (coal, oil and gas, hydropower) are increasingly scarce, the topic "Use energy efficiently and economically" has extremely important meaning.

Coming to the contest, the contestants have chosen rich and diverse contents with the aim of propagating to help students in particular and the community in general join hands to save and use energy effectively, know how to protect natural resources, protect our living environment. The contestants have prepared costumes and props to perform the greeting and talent contests to increase persuasiveness and appeal. Many teams have invested effort, intelligence and practice time to prepare their performances meticulously and thoughtfully.

For example, in the talent competition, the Green Energy team at Dien Chau 3 High School chose a very unique fashion show with materials made from recycled bottles, nylon, plastic bags or fishing nets to convey the message.environmental protection, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The knowledge test was also thoroughly reviewed by the students, and all teams achieved full marks in this part of the test. After a period of urgent and serious work, the Organizing Committee also found the teams to award First, Second, and Third prizes to the teams.

Mr. Mai Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Center for Energy Conservation, Department of Industry and Trade said: The 2021 contests on propagating energy saving and efficiency have contributed to widely propagating to school lecturers and students the importance of energy for life, when the economic recovery after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is strongly reviving, the energy crisis is heating up globally, raising questions about whether the world is ready for a green energy revolution or not, you are the future propagandists of the country to help clean energy gradually become a popular energy source in the future.

As part of the 2021 Energy Saving and Efficiency Program, it is expected that in November, Nghe An Energy Saving Center will continue to organize training courses on energy saving and efficiency in households, launch a movement to use energy saving and efficiency in schools, and install classroom lighting that meets quality standards.
