Nghe An copes with severe cold and strong winds at sea during Lunar New Year
(Baonghean.vn) - The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued a dispatch on implementing measures to respond to severe cold during the Lunar New Year.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, during the upcoming Lunar New Year, from January 17 to 26, the Northern and North Central regions will experience cold weather, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold, with the lowest temperature ranging from 9-12 degrees Celsius, 6-9 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and below 3 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas. In addition, from January 17 to 18, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northern, central, western and southern regions of the East Sea, there will be strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9.
To proactively respond to severe cold and minimize damage, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and districts, cities and towns; Departments and branches to direct the implementation of response measures, noting the following contents:

Closely monitor weather developments and promptly inform the authorities and people; proactively implement measures to ensure safety for people, especially the elderly, children and students; absolutely do not use coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid unfortunate incidents that cause human casualties.
Strengthen propaganda and guidance for livestock households on hygiene, strengthening barns, covering and keeping warm, proactively stocking food to ensure prevention of hunger and cold; deploy plans to move free-range livestock to pens in necessary situations to ensure safety; provide guidance on disease prevention and control for livestock, poultry and aquatic products; cover, shield, water, fertilize and keep moist for rice production, vegetables, ornamental plants and perennial plants.
Proactively notify and guide visitors and tourists, increase warnings on roads where fog and slippery conditions often occur to ensure safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.
