(Baonghean.vn) - According to the provincial People's Committee, Nghe An has 1 dead person, 1 injured person and estimated damage of about 518 billion VND due to storm No. 10.
According to the quick report of the People's Committees of localities and units, the initial damage summary up to 4:00 p.m. on September 15, 2017 of 12/21 units (Cua Lo Town, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town, Quynh Luu, Tan Ky, Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Nghia Dan, Nam Dan, Tuong Duong) is as follows:
Regarding people, there was 1 death, Ms. Dao Thi Thuc, 83 years old, Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town; died on September 15, 2017 due to a storm causing a proximang sheet to fall on her. She was taken to the hospital by her family but due to serious injuries, old age, and poor health, she died.
One person was seriously injured, Mr. Nguy Dinh An, 60 years old, Hung Cuong 1 hamlet, Ky Son commune, Tan Ky district, after falling and breaking his neck while pruning a tree branch on September 14, 2017.

A total of 725 houses, shops, and kiosks had their roofs blown off, most of which were in Cua Lo Town, Nghi Loc District.
There are 65 households in Hoa Lam hamlet, Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city, flooded 1-3m deep, now the water has receded, the households have returned home.
Regarding agricultural production: 380 hectares of Summer-Autumn Rice were flooded, fallen, and broken (Do Luong, Nghia Dan, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai); 2,348 hectares of corn and vegetables were flooded, fallen, and broken (Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai, Tuong Duong); Aquaculture: 271.5 hectares were flooded (Dien Chau, Nghi Loc districts, Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu, Tuong Duong).
Although the destruction was not as severe as the recent storm No. 2, storm No. 10 also knocked down and broke 524 trees, mainly in Cua Lo town and Vinh city.
The whole province has 4 schools in Quynh Luu, Cua Lo town with roofs blown off, 200m of fence collapsed.

One of the most serious damages in Nghe An was damage to irrigation works, including landslides of 10 dam slopes, 1,675m of sea dyke (Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town), 750m of Mai Giang river dyke, Hoang Mai town; landslides of 900m of river bank (Ro river, Thanh Chuong district: 500m; Lam river, Thanh Linh commune section, Thanh Chuong district: 400m).
In addition, storm No. 10 also damaged and eroded 7.5km of rural roads, washed away 11 small culverts...
Initial economic damage caused by storm No. 10 in Nghe An is estimated at about 518 billion VND.
