Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and worked in Ky Son and Tuong Duong

On November 16 and 17, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited a number of communes and worked with leaders of Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts.

In Ky Son district, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited the elephant grass growing models for fattening cows and the pilot passion fruit growing model in Muong Long commune, visited the flood avoidance bridge model for students in Pieng Hom village (Pha Danh commune) and Pieng Hom Kindergarten.

Speaking at the working session with leaders of Ky Son district in the afternoon of the same day, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts of Ky Son district in recent times.

In addition to the positive aspects, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that Ky Son district's implementation of the National Target Program for New Rural Areas has not been good, there are still many shortcomings that need to be noted such as slow disbursement of some programs. The poverty rate is still very high, expected to be about 62% by the end of the year, the highest in the province. The mentality of waiting and relying on others still exists among officials and people, many households are not actively escaping poverty.

From that situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pointed out that Ky Son needs to focus on three most important matters. That is, ensuring security and defense along the entire border; needing to quickly identify ways to escape from being a poor, underdeveloped district; and needing to focus on raising awareness for people to rise out of poverty, eliminating the mentality of waiting and relying on others.

During a working trip to Tuong Duong on November 17, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged that the locality has three positive areas: greener forests, more prosperous economy, and maintained political stability, security and order, making people excited and confident in the government's leadership.

However, the head of the provincial People's Committee said that to escape poverty, firstly, the district needs to take the lead in the movement to build new rural village, hamlet and commune models in the highland areas. Second, it is necessary to build more economic models, evaluate their effectiveness for replication. Finally, it is necessary to promote the advantage of being the district with the largest forest area in the province and the largest district in the country.

4 teachers 'living in remote areas' in Nghe An were honored as outstanding teachers nationwide

During the week, many activities were held to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day. In particular, Nghe An was honored to have 4 teachers honored as outstanding teachers. These are all teachers who live in remote areas and have made many positive contributions to the education of their province.

The program to honor outstanding teachers to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day took place on the evening of November 18, co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Education Trade Union and Vietnam Television.

At this year's ceremony, 153 outstanding teachers and administrators were honored nationwide. Nghe An province had 4 teachers honored, namely: teacher Ho Thi Thao - Principal of Quy Chau High School, teacher Lo Van Lan - Teacher of Cam Muon 2 Primary School (Que Phong); teacher Lang Van Nha and teacher Nguyen Hong Hiep - Principal and teacher of Tri Le 4 Primary School (Que Phong).

Crane collapse kills one student

At around 5:00 p.m. on November 14, 2016, the crane of the Truong Thanh 2 apartment building construction unit of Truong Thanh Company Ltd. collapsed and fell onto Le Viet Thuat High School, causing serious damage to people and property of the school. Specifically, it caused the death of a 10th grade male student on the spot, the collapse of the roof of the 3-story building (building A4), the school's multi-purpose gymnasium, and the destruction of 3 electric bicycles of students.

It is worth mentioning that before the crane collapsed, the investor of the villa apartment complex in block 5, Truong Thi ward (Vinh city) had committed many violations in the field of construction order.

Le Viet Thuat High School and local people have expressed their opinions that the project has many shortcomings; many items and works have had negative impacts on the environment and have hidden many worrying issues. At the same time, since then, the People's Committee of Truong Thi Ward has repeatedly requested the investor to overcome the shortcomings and complete the legal documents before continuing the construction. However, the construction still continues, and has caused the heartbreaking incident that caused the death of a 10th grade male student as mentioned above.

According to the representative of the Department of Construction, at the time of the accident, the investor had not yet presented a construction permit. The question here is what is the responsibility of the agencies related to this field when the construction project is located not far from the Vinh City People's Committee, the urban order management team and the Department of Construction?

Regarding the above incident, on November 15, 2016, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 8752, sent to relevant levels and branches to direct "investigation to clarify the incident and strictly handle it according to the provisions of law".

Investigate and strictly handle subjects who beat people and caused trouble for no reason in An Hoa commune.

Regarding the incident of "unreasonable beating of people causing public disorder in An Hoa commune", on November 16, 2016, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district issued Official Dispatch No. 1724/UBND-NV, "Regarding some illegal activities of Priest Dang Huu Nam, Parish Priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district" to relevant departments and branches; Bishop of Vinh Diocese; Thuan Nghia deanery; priests in Quynh Luu district.

The content of the dispatch clearly stated that the incident occurred, the District People's Committee found that: The actions of Priest Dang Huu Nam, who beat students and incited some parishioners to brutally beat Mr. Ho Vinh Lai, Head of the Commune Health Station, pushed parishioners to violate the law, harmed the health and lives of citizens; caused confusion and indignation in public opinion; damaged the spirit of solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics; seriously affected the image of a priest and the reputation of the church.

The People's Committee of Quynh Luu District strongly condemns the above-mentioned unfaithful actions of Priest Dang Huu Nam and some people of Phu Yen Parish, An Hoa Commune. In the coming time, the People's Committee of the District will direct the relevant agencies to urgently investigate and resolutely handle the violators according to the Law.
