Nghe An and the highlights of the week.
(Baonghean.vn) - Let's review the outstanding events that took place in our province last week (March 30 - April 4) with Baonghean.vn online newspaper.
1) The Prime Minister approved the addition of 750 hectares of VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Service and Urban Area to the Southeast Economic Zone.

On April 3rd, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 10/2015/QD-TTg amending and supplementing Clause 1, Article 2 of the Regulations on the Operation of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone (EZ). Accordingly, the Southeast Economic Zone is supplemented with 750 hectares of the VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Service and Urban Zone located in Hung Chinh commune, Vinh City, and Hung Tay, Hung Dao communes, and Hung Nguyen town (Hung Nguyen district). Thus, the current area of the Southeast Economic Zone has been increased from 20,026.47 hectares to 20,776.47 hectares.
2) Commencement of construction for berths No. 5 and 6 at Cua Lo Port.

On the morning of April 3rd, the Provincial People's Committee, in coordination with Tuan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project of berths No. 5 and No. 6 at Cua Lo Port, with a total investment of 1,180 billion VND and a project implementation period of one year. The construction of berths No. 5 and 6 also simultaneously implements Decision 70 dated March 19, 2013, of the Prime Minister on developing Cua Lo Port into a national-level Class I hub port, playing a key role in serving the socio-economic development of the entire country and inter-regional areas.
3) Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery

On the morning of April 4th, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh District, in coordination with the Management Board of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Sect, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery and the commencement of construction for the An Quoc Great Buddha statue. The Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery is part of the Ru Gam Cultural, Spiritual, and Ecological Tourism Complex project. The Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery and other Buddhist structures, such as the An Quoc Great Buddha statue, will become sacred destinations, adding value to the spiritual and ecological tourism complex; serving as a highlight for sustainable development, unlocking potential, and attracting tourists to Yen Thanh District in particular and Nghe An Province in general.
