Nghe An and Thanh Hoa to host the 2023 National Youth U21 Football Tournament

The 2023 National Youth U21 Football Tournament is expected to have 12 participating teams, of which 10 teams will be selected through qualifying rounds and 2 co-host teams.

After the meeting, the Organizing Committee agreed to choose two neighboring localities, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, as the two host teams at the 2023 National Youth U21 Football Tournament.

Specifically, Thanh Hoa will host matches in groups A and B, the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. Meanwhile, Nghe An will host 6 matches in group C. Thus, U21 Song Lam Nghe An will be the home team in this group.

According to the tournament regulations, each group will consist of 4 teams, competing in a round robin to calculate rankings. Of which, 3 first-place teams, 3 second-place teams and 2 third-place teams with excellent results will be selected to compete in the quarter-finals.

Expected matches in group C, the group thatU21 Song Lam Nghe Anwill be the home team held at Vinh Stadium starting from September 19 - 23.



Also according to the Regulations of the 2023 National Youth U21 Football Tournament, the teams are not allowed to register players called up to the National youth teams such as U20, U23 to participate in the 2023 National Youth U21 Tournament. This is causing U21 Song Lam Nghe An to face many difficulties in terms of personnel. Because talented players such as Xuan Tien, Nam Hai, Van Viet, Nguyen Hoang, Long Vu, Ho Van Cuong, Cao Van Binh... will no longer have the opportunity to join U21 Song Lam Nghe An to participate in this year's tournament.

Previously, at the 2022 National Youth U21 Football Tournament, Nghe An was also chosen to host the final round. However, due to personnel problems, U21 Song Lam Nghe An had to say goodbye to the tournament early, missing the opportunity to win the Gold Cup when it was held at home./.
